JUNIPER: QFX5100 SWITCHES
JUNIPER: QFX5100 SWITCHES
Very low latency, high-performance, 10GbE/40GbE data center switch
The QFX5100 line of scalable, high-performance, low-latency Layer 2/3 switches is optimized for application delivery, with a powerful feature set for virtualized data centers.
Product Description
QFX5100 switches are flexible data center switching platforms that provide a universal building block for multiple fabric architectures, including Juniper’s mixed 1/10/40GbE Virtual Chassis, Virtual Chassis Fabric, Junos Fusion and QFabric® System architectures, as well as open architectures such as Spine and Leaf, Layer 3 and Open Clos IP fabrics. All QFX5100 switches support unified in-service software upgrades (unified ISSU) to deliver hitless data center operations for high availability.
QFX5100 switches also include support for virtualized network environments including Juniper Contrail and VMware NSX Layer 2 gateway services.
Five QFX5100 switch models are available:
QFX5100-48S, a 10GbE switch that offers 48 dual-mode, small form-factor pluggable transceiver (SFP and SFP+) ports and six quad small form-factor pluggable plus (QSFP+) 40GbE ports.
QFX5100-48T, a 10GbE switch with 48 tri-speed (10GbE/1GbE/100 Mbps) RJ-45 ports and six QSFP+ ports.
QFX5100-24Q, a 40GbE switch that supports up to 32 QSFP+ ports.
QFX5100-24Q-AA, a high-performance 40GbE switch that supports an FPGA-based 4x40GbE expansion module with customizable logic for accelerating compute-intensive, latency-sensitive, mission-critical application processing.
QFX5100-96S, a 10GbE switch that provides 96 dual-mode SFP and SFP+ ports, and eight quad small form-factor pluggable plus (QSFP+) 40GbE ports.
For added flexibility, the 40GbE ports on the QFX5100 switches can serve as 4x10GbE ports, using QSFP+ to SFP+ direct-attach copper (DAC) or QSFP+ to SFP+ fiber splitter cables and optics. In converged server-edge access environments, you can also deploy the QFX5100 as a standards-based Fibre Channel-over-Ethernet (FCoE) transit switch, protecting investments in existing data center aggregation and Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN) infrastructures.
